I have embraced the saxophone's sultry, smooth and sexy sounds for decades. In my retirement, I have taken making music to a new level. In doing so, I have also cobbled friendships with some fine partner musicians.
I offer solo saxophone melodies played to professional orchestra backing tracks. Music offered includes sweet love songs, classic jazz scores, fun pop pieces and relaxing ballads.
I offer a self-contained package with my own equipment and flexibility to delight those who hire me.

I met Laura while performing with her in our church Contemporary Band. We began performing as part of a rock band and splintered off to create a different sound...a smooth, relaxing barside genre.
We love to team up to play out those lovely contemporary pieces (Adele, Eva Cassidy, Norah Jones, Sade) with a splash of old classics (Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald) thrown in.
When we play out, we offer a sound meant for quiet background to conversation such as barsides, restaurants, parties, etc.

Miss (Bluebird) Barb moved into the community that I live in. She heard about a music program that we had and I was a part of. She came to try us on for a fit and I heard THAT timbre that fits so very well with the kind of sound that I chase. She had some background in vocal groups but not solo. I asked her to try some duo work with me and we clicked. She is a true professional and has such a passion for her craft.
We perform as Saxman Jack & Bluebird and cover so many older classics and the newer contemporary pop favorites.

I started playing in a larger band with my SMOOTH SOUND COLLECTIVE bandmates in my community. We found each other as lovers of the music that made America shine. It wasn't too hard to fashion our name among the five of us. It HAD to include "smooth". There are outlets for plenty of rock hits, but, when a lady and gent wants to experience each other in dance, you need a smooth, classic lineup.
This combo includes alto and tenor saxes, trumpet/coronet, jazz guitar and female vocalist.
We are well received by older crowds who appreciate those sounds of yesteryear with a mix in of more contemporary sounds to appeal to all.

$75/hr - 2 hour minimum. Additional hours negotiable.

FEMALE VOICE + SAX DUO
$100/hr - 2 hour minimum. Additional hours negotiable.
We have SWEET TEA & SAX and SAXMAN JACK AND BLUEBIRD as your DUO (Voice+Sax) choices.
COMBO BAND - 5 Piece vocals & Instruments
$200/hour - 2 hour minimum. Additional hours negotiable.
